jan Tili li tawa esun pi ma tomo Liliti. ona li lukin e jan mute. ona li tawa e jan esun. jan esun ni li suli li kepeken ilo kiwen li pali e ilo ante.

jan Tili li toki e ni: 'toki!'

  1. 'tawa jan esun'. no 'e'.similarly, no 'e' with 'lon' (or any other preposition, except when used as causatives)
    The newest rules seem to allow that quotations are nouns and so we can say 'toki e 'toki!'' and so on. The older alternative was to require a 'nimi' (or such like) before the quote.
